Gluten-free diet
Celiac disease is a globally occuring disease in children and adults which is provoked by an intolerance of gluten. Gluten is a vegetable protein contained on the surface of cereal grains.
For patients (celiacs) gluten provokes inflammation of the intestinal mucus, which induces a worse absorption of nutrients, minerals, vitamins and water and also overloads the immune system.
The only treatment is a lifelong gluten-free diet. A gluten-free diet should not be forgotten by the patient while eating away from home, that is why gluten-free meals are included in the menu of Penzion Pomněnka.
